MEET THE AUTHOR
Chris Petrie
For many years, both professionally and personally, I've watched families face difficult situations without the conversations or information they wished they'd had.
The Gentle Preparation series grew from a simple idea: preparation doesn't need to be overwhelming. It doesn't have to happen all at once, and it doesn't need to focus on fear.
My hope is that these resources help make those conversations feel a little less daunting and a little more approachable.
WHY THIS SERIES EXISTSĀ
As a psychotherapist and creative arts therapist, I've spent much of my career helping people navigate uncertainty, life transitions, grief, relationships and change.
One thing I've learned is that the hardest conversations are often the ones that matter most. Whether that means organising important information, recording personal wishes, preserving memories or simply beginning a conversation with someone you love, every small step has value.
If these resources reduce uncertainty, ease decision-making, preserve a meaningful story or encourage one important conversation that might otherwise never have happened, then they have achieved exactly what they were created to do.
My approach
Compassionate, practical, and down to earth. I believe small steps create lasting clarity.
My Philosophy
Good conversations build connection, confidence, and peace of mind.
My Background
Psychotherapist and creative arts therapist with over 40 years of experience in art, education, and well-being.
My Commitment
To create resources that support families and individuals to plan with care and clarity.
